GuidedFunds was born from heartbreaking encounters with families whose loved ones suffered traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and were left without access to the care they desperately needed—not because recovery was impossible, but because it was unaffordable.
We’ve met families whose children remained in wheelchairs for years, showing only minimal progress—not due to a lack of potential, but because consistent, specialized therapy was out of reach. One family’s story still stays with us: their son, semi-conscious and unable to sit upright, relied on a feeding tube and tracheostomy. He couldn’t speak. Their greatest barrier? No insurance. And the top rehabilitation centers don’t accept Medicaid.
Another family reached out, hoping to relocate to Texas for better care for their son, who had suffered a TBI in a car accident three years earlier. He was still in a wheelchair, still had a trach, and received therapy just once a week. Their home wasn’t wheelchair accessible, and Medicaid kept him in a long-term facility. His father, disabled himself, visited daily and tried to provide therapy on his own. He told us he cries every time he sees his son.
And even families with insurance face devastating gaps. Coverage often stops short of the intensive, long-term therapy required for meaningful recovery. Parents are left choosing between groceries and another week of therapy. Children are left waiting—sometimes indefinitely—for the care that could change their lives.
These stories aren’t rare. They’re tragically common.
The thread that connects them all is the lack of financial access to life-changing care. Families are stuck—not because they’ve lost hope, but because the resources they need are out of reach.
We spend money every day—on things we need, and often on things we simply want. But there are people out there with life-critical needs that go unmet. And there are others who could change a life with a single act of generosity.
GuidedFunds exists to bridge that gap. To give hope where there is none. To support those who are fighting for their loved ones every single day.
And here’s the hope: we’ve seen what happens when people come together. We’ve seen progress where there was once stagnation. Smiles where there were only tears. Families who felt forgotten, finally remembered.
We believe that healing is possible. That recovery is within reach. That no one should be denied care because of their financial situation.
You can be part of that change. You can be the reason someone walks again, speaks again, lives again. GuidedFunds is more than a nonprofit—it’s a movement of compassion, action, and transformation.
